This weekend is the start of the major 2 qualifiers for the Call of Duty League. Major 2 will be hosted in Miami, Florida by the team of the Miami Hertetics who are looking to bounce back after Major 1.
During Major 1 Miami started in round 1 of winners to lose 3- 0 to OpTic Texas. After losing to OpTic, Miami Faced off against Las Vegas Legion to lose 3-0 and to be eliminated in the first round of Major 1 without winning a single map, after going 5-2 in the qualifiers stage leading up to Major 1.
Major 2 qualifiers opening weekend matchups
Starting on Friday Miami will face against Toronto Ultra who are coming off their first-place finish at Major 1. The second and final match of the day will be the Carolina Royal Ravens vs the New York Subliners. Going into Major 1 Carolina was making many roster moves as the team was not performing and having some Visa issues they ended up finishing 7th – 8th which is not bad with them starting in losers round 1 at the major where they defeated New York and lost to Seattle Surge in the second round of losers. New York, need to show how they can bounce back as they finished tied for last place at Major 1, and with everyone expecting them to be at least a top-four team in the CDL and at this Major, they need to bounce back in Major 2 qualifiers.
On Saturday Boston Breach will face against Carolina. Boston made a small roster change after Major 1 where they finished tied for last place. After the Boston vs Carolina match, we will get Atlanta Faze vs Miami. Atlanta Faze finished 2nd at Major 1 and will need to continue to show their dominance during this qualifier. The third and final match of the day will be New York vs Seattle Surge. Seattle Surge had an okay Major 1 finishing tied for 5th – 6th. After the Major, they made a roster change removing a player who caused a lot of conflict during Major 1.
Going into Sunday the first match will be the Los Angeles Guerillas vs the Las Vegas Legion. LA Guerillas are coming off a good finish of 5th-6th at Major 1 where they were considered one of the bottom teams in the league going into the year and they just need to continue to prove people wrong. For Lost Vegas, they had a sad Major 1 after finishing 7th-8th at Major 1 and are getting a lot of negative comments on their roster changes made after the major. A lot of people believe that they removed one of their better players. The remaining players are going to need to prove that they deserve their spots on this roster. The second match of the day will be the Toronto vs Minnesota Rokkr. Minnesota will look to continue off where they left at Major 1 where they finished in 4th. They were ranked at the bottom of teams in the CDL going into Major 1 and finishing 4th which was impressive for this roster, they need to continue to prove everyone wrong. The third and final match of the weekend will be Los Angeles Thieves VS OpTic Texas. Thieves are looking to bounce back after finishing tied for last place at Major 1. Some of their fans are questioning some of the roster moves that were made and why they kept one of their players who performed very poorly during the qualifiers and at the Major for Major 1. That player will need to show he deserves his spot on the roster. OpTic on the other hand just needs to continue where they left off at Major 1 where they finished in 3rd place and continue to improve in the game mode of search and destroy. Also, OpTic Texas player Kenny gets to face off against the Thieves his former team that he has represented for the last 3 seasons.
Our predictions

For Friday we believe that Toronto will defeat Miami and New York will defeat Carolina. We believe that Miami is a good roster but not ready to compete with Toronto who seem to be the best roster at this time in the Modern Warfare 3. We also believe that New York will bounce back and show that what happened at Major 1 was just a small mistake.
Going into Saturday we predict that Carolina will beat Boston, we also believe that Atlanta will beat Miami. For the final match, we predict that New York will defeat Seattle. Carolina looked good at Major 1 and with Boston making a roster change we believe that they are not ready to compete against Carolina. We also believe that Miami has a rough weekend starting against Toronto and then Atlanta the two teams that finished 1st and 2nd at Major 1 and we don’t see them winning either match. We also believe that New York will beat Seattle to help prove that Major 1 was a mistake.
For the Sunday matches, we have LA Guerillas beating Las Vegas, Toronto beating Minnesota, and Texas beating the LA Thieves. We believe Vegas still has a lot of players who need to prove they deserve their spot on the roster and the Gorillas just seem to look better at this time. Toronto finishing 1st at Major 1 is enough for us to pick them over Minnesota and We have Texas beating the Thieves because the Thieves have not looked good this year and are going to have to take time after making two roster changes.
